Walnut Waterfall Table

We love when we have a client that is all about thinking outside the box and says “Go for it!”. When we saw this black walnut slab, we saw an opportunity to use every part of this slab to make an eye-turning piece. All the details on this table are amazing. We wanted to preserve as many as we could. The locally custom-made raw steel legs are sturdy yet simplistic as not to distract from all the intricate detail. Want a custom piece in your home? This side makes this table stand out from all the rest. The Waterfall, as we have named it, allows the grain and detail of this slab to flow from the top down the side.

The slab is filled with beautiful curl. We chose to secure the split with two curly maple bowties that compliment the light sapwood on the outer edge of the slab.

The layering of the bark, inner bark, and sapwood on the petite waterfall is mesmerizing.

Even the void in the slab received special treatment. The marblelized tinted epoxy fill allows for a bit of light to pass through, making the void not so visually heavy.

Details, details, details. We care about them. Even the way the clear-coated raw steel legs attach to the table is clean, simple, and allows for transport.

The Waterfall table in its entirety. The straight edge on back allows it to fit snug against a wall. The preserved front and waterfall side are what give this table it’s beautiful soft shape.
