Walnut Hanging Bookcase

Keith, a talented photographer out of St. Louis, contacted us about commissioning a custom designed piece that would solve him and his wife’s storage issue in their studio. They shared some inspiration pieces that gave us insight into their style and needs. We knew they wanted something that fit their Mid-century modern style and maximized their space, therefore, the hanging bookcase concept was a perfect solution for them. We delivered the pieces and installed them onsite.

This piece is actually two bookcase pieces made to look like a coherent piece when hung. Each piece is 7′ long, 24″ tall & 12″ deep, made of Walnut, and have adjustable shelves. We are thrilled how perfectly the piece came together and gives their studio practical and beautiful storage.

Inspired by the Mid-century era of design, these hanging bookcases are a great way to add a visual interest to a room while offering incredible storage.

The pieces are finished with a custom mix of Danish oil, poly and buffed wax to give a smooth satin, easy-to-clean surface and a sleek, modern look.

The adjustable shelves allow endless possibilities for configuring storage. But details matter to us so much, that we want even the smallest details to be beautiful. These brass pins and sleeves are perfectly paired with the mid-century style and take a normally simplistic detail from practical to attractive.

Perfect fit, perfect look!
